A TEAM of runners from City of Salisbury competed in the newly-launched Bovington off-road half marathon.
Reece Ingram was the club’s speediest on the day, crossing the line in 1hour 38min 22sec which was a creditable run for 10th place in one of the quirkier fixtures of the midwinter season.
Two places back in 12th, Steve Auton also did well recording 1.38.25.
Next came a solid performance from Charlotte Ingram with 1.52.12 and she was followed by Linda Robson in 2.32.34, Jane Whiteley 2.32.35, Jef Hutchby 2.35.23, Kathryn Dreyer 2.58.17 and Jeanette Hardiman 2.58.31.
Over the full 26mile full marathon course on the same testing terrain, Phil Smith clocked 3.44.19 for a placing well up the field, and Liz Roberts defied the effects of a heavy fall just a mile from the finish to stop the clock at 5.21.35.
