A DESTRUCTIVE Ellingham and Ringwood seconds put Bournemouth fourths to the sword in a 41-7 drubbing in Dorset and Wilts 2 South.

Having narrowly lost the reverse fixture earlier in the season, Es' sweet revenge began early doors when wing three quarter, Rian Timmins, opened the scoring after a well-worked move.

Veteran fly half Andy Weeks then rolled back the years to kick a penalty after continued pressure from Ellingham.

With the forwards dominating, Sam Panton crashed over for a second try and Weeks kicked the conversion.

And continued pressure from the forwards resulted in Josh Berry diving over from close range for his second try of an injury-hit debut season. Again, the reliable boot of Weeks kicked the conversion to open up a 22-0 lead, but Bournemouth fought back.

Despite being down to 14 men with one of their players in the sin bin, the visitors scored a good forwards try that was converted, to make it 22-7 at the break.

The New Forest side dominated the second half, making the most of Bournemouth's ill-discipline which saw them lose two further players to the sin bin.

Ellingham’s scrum half and captain Aaron Barker scored a good try that Weeks converted. Centre Joe Walsgrove then got in on the action with a try, but an accidental clash of heads resulted in Weeks being knocked out and replaced.

Despite having to ring the changes, Ellingham continued to play well and Chris Frost scored a final try that Barker converted.

The Forest's third string also found some winning form as they cruised to a 41-26 victory over arch-rivals Fordingbridge.

It was their first victory of the campaign and one that aids their fight for survival in Dorset and Wilts 3 South.

Matt Raybould and scrum half Will Searle scored two tries. The others came from number 8 Steve Carey, prop forward Darren Kendall and wing three quarter Josh Rowntree. Their full back Nick Doulton also kicked three conversions.

Fordingbridge came back well in the second half scoring four tries to earn a bonus point via Will Knight (2) and one each from Jake Kostelyk and Matt Randall.

Ellingham and Ringwood Women capped off a fine weekend for the Parsonage Barn Lane club with a 56-0 thumping over Dorchester and Weymouth to regain their place at the top of the RFU National Challenge Division 2.

The game was played in dreadful conditions, which didn’t suit Ellingham’s style of play, but they stuck to their task and secured an important away bonus point win.

Full back Chloe Barrett, scrum half Paige Darvill-White, centre Kourtney Driscoll and wing three quarter Charlotte Smith all scored two tries, with the others coming from centre Titilia Tarogi and flank forward Rosie Swann. Barrett also kicked two conversions, with the other coming from Darvill-White.
