PAUL Henderson is finishing March with a flourish after saddling three winners in two days.

Easter In Paris started the ball rolling for the Whitsbury trainer when landing the mares’ 2m5f handicap chase at Hereford on Sunday, ridden by Paddy Brennan. The eight-year-old made all the running to score the first win of her 15-race career by a length.

Henderson said: “She had not been running badly and had been second twice around Christmas but the key this time was the drying good/soft ground – and Paddy thinks she will improve when the ground gets even faster.”

Turban sparked Monday’s double at Plumpton leading virtually from pillar to post in the 3m1½f handicap chase, again with Brennan on board. The 10-year-old was once with legendary Irish trainer Willie Mullins – his victories in the Emerald Isle include a 90,000 euro chase at Fairyhouse in 2014 – but even though he had slipped almost three places down the official ratings since his zenith he still looked a class apart against just two rivals.

Thepartysover completed Henderson’s excellent sequence under Tom O’Brien when the 12-year-old took the 3m1f handicap hurdle.

This treble puts Henderson on 13 winners for the National Hunt season – three short of his personal best in 2012-13 with a month of the campaign remaining.
