IT’S all change at the top of the Teams of Four League following Saturday’s penultimate match at Witherington Farm Fishery.

Dandy’s K2 team are now leading the league with 203 points ahead of Eastleigh Mosella Red on 106. The K2 team finished in second place in Saturday’s match, earning 34 points, one less than Eastleigh Misfits, but it was enough to push them into top spot.

Individually, Alex Nadin, from previous leaders, Whitemoor Lakes, had the winning weight with a massive 95lb from the Outer Snake Lake while John Gray (Reid’s Tackle) was runner-up with equally impressive 85lb 12oz from the Inner Snake Lake. The last match in the eight-match series is at Witherington on Saturday, May 13.

A mid-week open match at Witherington also saw some hefty weights, with match winner, Paul Barnard, hauling out 69lb 10oz, second place Gary Wright 45lb 4oz and Chris Opie in third place with 43lb 10oz – the match was fished on the Snake Lakes. Running in conjunction with the open was a silvers only match and this was won by Dave Moody with 16lb 4oz.

In the dying days of the season on Salisbury Angling Club’s Steeple Langford lake complex, carp angler, Dave Budgell, ended his season on a high, banking seven carp in total with the top three weighing-in at 33lb 4oz, 29lb 9oz and 25lb 2oz.

Several large carp into double figures came out of Barnmoor Lake at Witherington Farm last Sunday and other fisheries in the area also report carp beginning to show as well as tench and bream. Reports from Dandy’s Ford Lane Fishery, Waldens Farm and Watergate Farm also show that as the weather warms up sport is improving.
