DOWNTON's Ollie Pidgley made a fantastic start to his second season in the Renault UK Clio Cup during the opening event of 2017 at Brands Hatch Indy last weekend.

The Team Pyro racer, who is supported in his sophomore year in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship feeder series by MSP Capital, Old English Properties New and Refurbished Ltd and Branded Design, was competitive throughout and departed Kent equal sixth in the standings.

“It’s been a great start to the season for us and our pace was really good all weekend," Pidgley reflected.

“Both races were higher than I finished at any point last year, so you can’t ask for much more than that, and it wasn’t like I was seventh or eighth but with a big gap to the pack ahead – we were close to the top six.

"All-in-all, I’m really pleased with how the whole weekend turned out.”

He now heads to Donington Park over the Easter weekend (April 15 and 16).

for rounds three and four of the Renault UK Clio Cup.
