Saturday, July 15 saw the first of the two BRSCC Race Weekend at Castle Combe writes Tim Crisp.

Salisbury based driver Tony Bennett was back at the 1.85 mile Wiltshire track to build on his championship points tally. At the start of the event, Tony was in 3rd place in Class A on 9 points.

Tony is one of only two drivers in the championship that drives an open top car, all the other competitors run closed top cars such as Audi TT’s Mitsubishi Evo 9’s and Seat Leon’s to name a few.

But its Tony and his Caterham R300 that qualified in fifth place on the grid for the latest championship round, the race turned out to be an hectic one, in which the Caterham moved up and down the leader board throughout the 15 lap race.

At the end Tony crossed the line in fourth position overall and fourth in class, so more points added towards the championship. The next round of the championship take place over the weekend August 12 and 13.
