BEN Currie of Salisbury's Gearlink team collected a pair of podium in the Supersport Championship one of the support races of the BSB Championship at the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit, writes TIM CRISP.

The team where upbeat after results from the previous round, but Ben Currie and James Westmoreland had contrasting weekends.

Currie started race one on Saturday from second place on the grid and after a restart he had an epic battle with Jack Kennedy who won the race by 0.006 second from Currie.

Westmoreland had to start from 14th place and finished in 11th as he could not get a break around the 1.20 mile track.

On Sunday the race started and Currie was leading from Kennedy when it was red flagged due to rain.

At the re start Kennedy won with Currie finished in a frustrated third, with Westmoreland coming home in seventh position.

In the two BSB races on Sunday Carl Phillips had two strong rides finishing 21st in race one on his Kawasaki ZX-10RR, and in a restarted race two due to rain Phillips showed outstanding ridings skills to cross the line in 10th position.

Other local riders in action were Michael Russell in the Ducati Tri-option Cup races finished 24th and 22nd on his True Heroes Racing 959 Ducati,

The next rounds for all the riders are at Oulton Park on the weekend of May 5-7.
