THERE was a mixed bag of results for the Whaddon-based Gearlink Kawasaki team at Snetterton on Sunday.
Jamie Hamilton had the team’s best result, when he continued his run of podium finishes to move to the top of the championship points table.
Meanwhile, Ben Wilson claimed an eighth place finish and Chris Martin was unfortunate to crash out of third place.
In the Fuchs/Silkolene British Supersport, Chris Martin claimed a |second row start in eighth place while Ben Wilson began the campaign right behind his Gearlink Kawasaki teammate in 12th position.
As the race got under way, Martin got a fantastic start to round turn one in |second place.
He was third as they crossed the line to start lap two but as he negotiated the chicane at Russell he lost the front end and crashed unhurt out of the race.
Meanwhile, Wilson was running in eighth position when the red flag brought the race to an abrupt end on lap 13 and, with two thirds of the race |distance completed, a result was declared with Wilson being awarded eighth place and a further eight championship points.
Jamie Hamilton has been inspired since joining Gearlink Kawasaki and again this weekend provided the team with yet another podium finish, this time taking second place in round five of the Metzeler National Superstock 600 |championship.
Although he crossed the finish line just ahead of Jones, he was penalised by race officials for gaining an unfair advantage at the last chicane and relegated to |second place.
Despite the disappointment of not |winning, the second place was enough for the young Irishman to take the series lead for Gearlink Kawasaki, just one point ahead of Luke Jones, who was awarded the race win.
