SALISBURY RFC seconds maintained their fantastic campaign in Dorset and Wilts 2 South after strolling past Ellingham and Ringwood seconds.

The second-placed highfliers, now 11 points free of Swanage and Wareham seconds in third, whipped Es 72- 22 at Castle Road.

Salisbury made a strong start, scoring five tries in the first 20 minutes without conceding.

They continued with their strong attacking play, scoring several more tries, but Es were not prepared to give up without fighting back. In the end, Salisbury scored 12 tries, six of which were converted.

Es scored four, with one conversion to leave the final score 72-22 in Salisbury's favour.

The razor-sharp firsts, meanwhile, made it a dozen wins in a row after winning comfortably away at Walcot 48-15 to cement their second place in Southern Counties South.

Matt Pallas’ side, who haven’t put a foot wrong since mid-November and boast the best points scored record, look to mount more pressure on leaders Swanage and Wareham on Saturday with the visit of Wimborne.

The Swans have a 14-point advantage over Green and Whites as the division’s teams prepare for their final four league clashes.
