MANAGER Matt Pallas believes his “buzzing” and “excited” troops have what it takes to orchestrate a promotion-winning performance back to South West 1.

Salisbury RFC look to take their tremendous season in Southern Counties South one step further on super Saturday in the play-off decider.

Standing in their way of an immediate return to the division they were demoted from last season are Aylesbury RFC.

The Buckinghamshire outfit, who finished second in Southern Counties North, arrive at Castle Road on the back of another straightforward league win.

With two top sides going face-to-face, Pallas is primed for a bumper crowd as his players seek to capture the home advantage.

“The lads are excited that they have the chance to finish the season on a high, and promotion to South West 1 will certainly be just reward for all the effort they’ve put in over a long season,” he said.

“The weather looks good for Saturday, so that can only be good for the type of fast-flowing rugby we want to play.

“Teams can’t compete with us when we move the point of attack around with the pace and power that we hold.”

“Another force multiplier will be our fantastic fans, week in week out they’ve given up their Saturdays to come along and support us. They’ve really been amazing and the lads are buzzing to put a show on for them.

“We’re expecting another bumper turn out. The game isn’t just about the first team but about the whole club, from the minis being our mascots to the juniors acting as the guard of honour.”

Kick off is 3pm but the club has scores of activities.

Pallas added: “Apart from the rugby there’s so much going on at the club on Saturday. It’ll be a day not to be missed.”

Entry £3, under-16s go free.
