THE Rugby World Cup is coming to Salisbury - for children, writes Jake Allright
Salisbury RFC are organising a mini group tournament, with hundreds of children from 20 primary schools representing the participating countries.
All players, boys and girls, aged nine to 11 years old of all abilities will compete for top spot.
There will be a series of pool games, reflecting the structure to be used at the World Cup.
Each tag rugby game – organised by Salisbury RFC and Bath Rugby Foundation with support from O2’s Think Big Project and Wiltshire Council’s Sports Development Rugby World Cup Engagement Initiative – will last seven minutes.
The tournament on Tuesday (September 15) - three days prior to the worldwide competition launching - runs from 11am to 2pm at Hudson's Field.
