THREE rugby players plunged thousands of feet in a skydive challenge wearing their cherished Green and White strip.

Liam Gilbert, Luke Ensouf and Jonathan Kay all took part in a World Cup-themed "heavy-weight" challenge with a tandem GoSkydive.

The trio, comprising a total weight of 50 stone, jumped out of an aeroplane from 15,000 feet, freefalling for up to 60 seconds and reaching speeds of up to 125mph.

Player/rugby coach Gilbert, 31, said: “It was fantastic to jump at GoSkydive. I’ve always wanted to do a skydive, but being of a heavier, rugby player’s build, it’s not been something I thought would be possible.

“Despite us rugby players having a tough reputation, I’ve got to admit, it was still pretty nerve-wracking.

"It was a first for all of us, and wow, what a buzz. It certainly matches up to the excitement of watching England."

Gordon Blamire, founder and managing Director for GoSkydive, said: “It was great to have the Salisbury Rugby Club players jump with us to celebrate the World Cup and raise awareness of our “heavy-weight” offering."

GoSkydive boasts a higher weight limit of 18 stone, which is three stone heavier than the industry standard.
