A DEPLETED Salisbury RFC fell to a third successive defeat after being thrashed 56-19 by National League 3 South West leaders Camborne.

A poor start for Green and Whites saw them 27 points adrift after 15 minutes as thy appeared to give the hosts too much respect.

Theo Daniel crossed under the posts for a try after some good work in the centre as the sides turned around at 27-5.

In the second half, Rob Larcombe scored a good try. Then, a break from Matt Loader saw him offload to Josh Green, filling in at the centre, who sent Jon Goldsmith over for a great score.

Two late tries for the Cornish hosts gave a score line of 56-19 but Salisbury never gave up, and performances from Jake McConnell, Jack Paffett, Duncan Grocock and debutant Mark Lerpiniere bodes well for the future.

Salisbury have a week's break before they host Lydney a week Saturday.

Elsewhere, Salisbury A recorded an excellent 43-22 victory against table-topping Puddletown in Dorset & Wilts 2 South.

First half tries from Dan Hobbs and Banimoll, both converted by Jamie Wright, plus a penalty, kept the visitors in the hunt at 22-17.

A fantastic performance from the pack in the second half wrestled control of the game, preventing Puddletown scoring a single point while double tries from Ash Wright and Chris Miller capped a fine performance. Wright was successful with three conversions.

In Dorset and Wilts 3 South, Salisbury Stones romped to a 45-17 win over Blandford seconds.

Scorers were John Bird with a brace, Freddy Seuisavou, Te, Steve Marshall, Aaron Gilbert and Joe Jackson, who also added five conversions with his boot.
