THREE Salisbury residents paid tribute to a friend who died of cancer by climbing Africa's highest mountain.
John Mussell, with his daughter Hayley, and Neil Tonge remembered Mark 'Rocky' Rogers by trekking up Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
Last month's climb took them along the Rongai Route encountering Montane Forest, Heath and Moorland, Alpine Desert and finally the Ice Cap as they ascended towards the summit.
So far, they've raised more than £5,000 for Stars Appeal's Pembroke Suite, where Mark lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in April this year.
Mark, who played and was a director of rugby at Salisbury RFC, had hoped to embark on the journey himself.
The trip was organised by Ritchie Evans, who studied at Trafalgar School and is now the CEO of Badger Adventures in the Lake District.
