CADAN Murley scored a brace of tries in England Under 18s' 43-14 victory over France at the weekend.

The teenager played his part in his country's winning start to the 2016/17 season at Aylesbury Rugby Football Club on the wing instead of centre.

In tough conditions, the hosts led 12-7 at half-time after a try each from full-back Elliott Obatoyinbo and Murley.

England’s dominance continued into the second period as John Fletcher’s side ran in five more tries with Cameron Redpath, Charlie Wright, Tom Seabrook, Ted Hill and Murley all crossing to confirm the comfortable victory.

But the international call-up for Murley, who is also on the books of Harlequins, meant he missed out on Bishop Wordsworth's terrific semi-final win over reigning champions Bromsgrove in the NatWest Schools Cup at Allianz Park. The final is against Warwick on Wednesday, March 29 at Twickenham.

Murley was a finalist for the Rugby Player of the Year at the Journal Sports Awards.
