A CAPTIVATING nine-goal clash was played by two attacking sides in Mid Wilts Youth League.
Billy Stevens’s brace and goals from Harry Wilde and Sam Mortimer put Amesbury Town under 17s into a comfortable 4-1 lead at half time.
Bradford-on-Avon then pegged back two goals to reduce the gap to 4-3, and things looked nervy until Stevens’s 18-yard rocket gave him a hat-trick and Amesbury five.
The visitors pulled one back late on but the game concluded 5-4 in Blues’ favour.
A positive result was also picked up by Sarum Academy when they defeated Bath College 4-1.
A first half effort from Callum Moston and two from starlet Jake Rawkins and Nathan Stokes proved decisive.
