A MIXTURE of coaching stations and competitive matches tested youngsters at a rugby day for a group of schools across Salisbury.
Stonehenge, Wellington Academy, St Johns and hosts Avon Valley College entered the Year 7 day at Salisbury RFC, Castle Road.
They were split into groups and worked round stations, guided by Salisbury coaches.
Later came the round robin competition in which Avon Valley were first, Stonehenge runners-up, Wellington third and St Johns fourth.
The top two teams go to the School Games Level 3 final.
As part of the same scheme, Avon Valley hosted a netball day of coaching stations and a tournament, with Wellington Academy the victors in the latter.
