A MIXTURE of youth teams waved the Salisbury Hockey flag at a county-wide tournament.
Boys and girls both had teams from under-10s and 12s at the national In2Hockey tournament in Marlborough College on Sunday.
Each group won their category and were rewarded with a place in the west regional stages to be held in Bristol.
Salisbury under-10s’ boys won a round-robin competition to qualify.
Both Salisbury girls’ teams dominated their pool stages and won their semi finals where they ended up meeting each other in the final. The under 10 A narrowly beat the B team 1-0 with a well-hit short corner.
Despite this age group ending as winners and runnersup, the In2Hockey rules indicate only one team per category age group can go through to the regional stages, so the A team will be joined at the regional stages by thirdplaced Devizes.
Salisbury boys’ under-12s A won a round-robin competition to qualify, with the under-12s boys B coming third.
The under-12s girls also progressed through pool stages and a semi final to win their final and qualify.
