BULFORD'S Avondale School were the winners of the level two School Games Hockey festival at Wellington Academy, writes Hannah Mead.
Ten schools took part in the event, which had two groups, with the winner of each meeting in the final.
After winning their respective group and matches, Avondale and Durrington Juniors locked horns in the final, which Avondale won 3-1.
Organiser Collette Harries said: "The standard of Hockey was high with some close-fought games."
"Each school showed great sportsmanship always shaking hands with the opposition at the end of the match which was lovely to see."
Avondale went on to play the level three final on Tuesday.
