VERWOOD ten-year-old Anthony Booth had a once-in-a-lifetime experience at Wembley Stadium for the FA Community Shield.

He walked out onto the hallowed turf as a mascot with the Arsenal camp before they kicked off with Chelsea on Sunday.

A deafening sound from 85,000 people filled the stadium for the Premier League guns going head-to-head.

In the end, it took a wonder strike from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to secure a 1-0 win for the FA Cup holders.

Anthony, who won the chance to be a player escort by winning a competition on the McDonald’s Better Play website, said that it was amazing.

“To walk out onto the Wembley pitch was brilliant,” he reflected.

“Seeing all the fans and hearing the cheers of the crowd was amazing – all of my friends at school are really jealous!”

Sir Geoff Hurst, McDonald’s director of football, said: “Walking out at Wembley in front of a large crowd is something I’ve been lucky enough to do a few times now, but it remains an experience I will never forget and I’m sure Anthony won’t either.

“The Community Shield is a game that I always look forward to and it was great to see so many players put in superb performances.”
