TEENAGER Katy Cutler is jet-setting to Prague with England's roving waterpolo team.

The 14-year-old South Wilts pupil is part of the 15 selected for the junior girls' team in the EU Nations Cup.

Over the three day tournament she will compete against the likes of Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Republic of South Africa, Scotland, Slovakia, Switzerland and Wales.

In the build up to the tournament, Katy has been taking part in an intensive pre-competition training at Millfield School.

She said: "I am very excited to be going to Prague to the EU Nations tournament.

"We will be playing against some of the best junior teams in Europe.

"This is a really good opportunity to see how we fare against some of the top teams ahead of the European Championships in 2017, which is the target competition for our squad if we can raise enough sponsorship over the next two years.

"I am really looking forward to the experience and I am thrilled that I was selected as it requires a lot effort and commitment to compete at this level, both for me and my parents."

Katy leaves on the first weekend of September.

Remaining in the water, six swimmers from Salisbury Stingrays Masters were among thousands doing the Bournemouth to Boscombe pier swim.

Cerian Trevan, Helen Carter, David Bigglestone, Lesley Maynard, Liz latter and Pippa Carter tackled the 2k challenge, which attracts 2,000 swimmers each year.
