A RINGWOOD schoolgirl has been crowned the 2015 British Mini Girls national champion for Wakeboarding.
Lola Cuckney, who attends Moyles Court School, won a gold medal in the Mini Girls (under 11) category and also achieved a fourth place finish in the girls category, where she competed against much older pupils.
The nine-year-old took part in the competition during the summer holidays at Boxend Waterboard Park in Bedford.
She said: “I found the competition quite hard so was absolutely thrilled to have won”
Lola will be competing in the nationals next year, but will be doing a lot more competing before that. She is taking part in a charity competition called Clothes for Kids where all the entry fees go towards buying clothes for less fortunate children.
Moyles Court School headteacher Richard Milner-Smith, added: “We wish Lola all the best in her future competitions, we are so very proud of you. It’s exciting to see younger children with so much potential getting involved in such an exciting sport.”
