BRACES from George Higgins and Aidan Fitzgerald helped Salisbury City Under-16s to an emphatic six-goal pasting over Gosport on the 3G pitch at Bulford.

After missing a hatful of chances, Higgins delivered a superb cross into the box which was met by Josh Sommerton.

Fitzgerald made a good run down the left and crossed to the near post for George Higgins to put Whites 2-0 up at the interval.

The second half started with good pace from both sides. Salisbury were soon on the attack and a cross from Higgins found Fitzgerald who headed the ball against the bar, Joe Dixon was the first to react turning the ball into the back of the net for 3-0.

Fitzgerald continually caused Gosport problems and was fouled in the box and slotted home the resulting penalty to put Salisbury further ahead.

The next goal was the pick of the goals with some good passing from the keeper to defence to midfield, a beautiful reversed pass from Jim Ward which put in George Higgins for his second of the game.

Ben Moore nodded home their sixth.
