FOUR points cost Salisbury Sparks Under-14s in their latest Solent Area Basketball Association League encounter.

After a close-fought tussle, the basketball side were left to swallow a 35-39 defeat, inflicted by Solent Kestrels at Crestwood College, Eastleigh.

The Sparks, who were trailing for the first half, pulled the score level towards the end of the third quarter but Kestrels' consistency and experience led them to a narrow victory. Luke Duckett led the scoring with 11.

The club, which play at Bishop Wordsworth's School, are looking for new members.

They train on Fridays, 6pm to 8pm, and anyone is welcome to join.

The first session's free.
