A YOUNG driver bidding to become a future Formula 1 star could win national acclaim.
Oscar Blanchard, 7, has been shortlisted for Karting Magazine's 2015 rookie driver of the year competition after a fruitful first season in the hot-seat.
The pupil at Nomansland's New Forest School has recorded podium finishes at several races at Matchams, broken the lap record at a Welsh track and has raced in many British Bambino Championships' events across the country.
His success has culminated in being seeded sixth in the country.
The driver is now preparing for the MSA British Bambino Championships and the Easykart Championships, which will be televised, next year.
To vote for Oscar visit http://www.kartingmagazine.com/awards/rookie-of-the-year-2015/oscar-blanchard/. Voting closes on Sunday (November 22).
Oscar is also looking for sponsorship next season. Anyone interested, email Oscar's father, Lee, at enquires-leeblanchard@southern-assessors.co.uk
