SALISBURY Sparks Under-16s registered two hard-fought victories on Saturday over Winchester Wolves and New Forest Vipers.
A slow start from the Sparks in the first game against the Wolves saw them trail at half-time by six points.
But a huge increase in intensity of play in the third quarter allowed Salisbury to reduce Winchester’s lead to two points. Despite having two players fouled out, Salisbury dominated the fourth quarter, scoring the last ten points of the game to walk away with a 27-21 victory.
The second game against the Vipers saw a very tight 12-8 first half but Salisbury’s full court defence in the second proved too much for New Forest and the Sparks pulled away to win 32-13.
