FIVE-STAR Salisbury City Under-16s are one game away from reclaiming the Hampshire Cup after hammering Newport 5-1.
The defending champions came from behind on the Isle of Wight to win the semi final, thanks to goals from Joe Dixon, Liam Greenough, Alex Kaunda, Theo Wolfarth and Sam Mills.
The wet and heavy pitch foiled Salisbury from playing their usual passing game and, consequently, found themselves a goal behind.
This sparked Salisbury into action, with both Jim Ward and Jacob Colligan attacking from wingback positions, causing Newport numerous problems.
And this led to Whites being rewarded with two goals before half time from Dixon then Greenough.
Minutes into the second half, Josh Sommerton's corner was planted home by Kaunda. Wolfarth then added a fourth before Mills rounded off a terrific day with a fifth goal.
Salisbury manager Richard Rendall lauded his players.
He said: "That was an excellent team performance against a strong Newport team."
Salisbury will face a team from Gosport in the final - either youth or falcons who meet on Saturday.
