A RECORD number of youngsters took part in the eighth Avon Valley College Mini Marathon.
More than 400 children competed across seven different races from Year 3s to
Year 8s.
First home in the girls' under 9s was Olivia Smith (Burbage), followed by Naomi Fay (Woodford Valley) and Sophie Mackin (Woodford Valley).
Ben Shearing won the boys' race (guest), second was Matthew Nocton (Great Bedwyn) and third Jake Lockwood (Burbage).
In the under 11s' girls race, Maisie Allen (Great Bedwyn) was first, Emily Batty (Durrington Juniors) second and Elena Warren (St Katharines) third.
Lawrence Crapper (Rushall) clinched the boys' race and Ed Tabor (Great Bedwyn) and Noah Greenway (Ramsbury).
Home side Avon Valley had something to cheer in the Year 7 race, with Emilie Henderson winning the girls' race and Harvey Hook securing bronze in the boys. Sam Shearing (Wyvern College) was the winner and Jonas Stringer (Bishop Wordsworth's) was runner-up.
Top performers from Great Bedwyn saw the village school claim a clean sweep, winning the under 9s (boys) and under 11s (boys and girls).
There was also the key stage one fun run for pupils and parents, which attracted 100 entries.
