FOURTEEN swimmers at Durrington Otters picked up a glut of medals in the Swindon Tigersharks Level 3 Autumn open meet.

The popular gala attracted teams from Bromsgrove, Bristol and Oxford as the weekend marked the start of the regional qualification window.

Otters racked up nine gold medals, six silvers and four bronzes. They were also awarded three speeding tickets, which is where a swimmer's race time is faster than the upper entry time for the level of competition.

Stand-out performers were Isabelle Norman, Imogen Primmer, Charlie Richardson and Honour Norman.

Coach Andy Harley said: "It was an excellent meet with some satisfying results for both new and experienced open meet swimmers.

"Despite the little recovery time between swims, the Otters did not let tiredness affect the outcome as a whole."
