TWICKENHAM awaits Bishop Wordsworth's Under 18s after the students delivered a monumental display to stun reigning champions Bromsgrove 41-19 in the semi-final of the NatWest Schools Cup.

They will go toe-to-toe with Warwick School, who were comfortable 30-17 victors over Felsted in other the last four clash, on Wednesday, March 29.

Victory would see the grammar school side surpass the class of 1991 who reached the very first under-18s final, losing 4-3 to King Edward VI of Stratford.

The teenage team, brimming with talent, made an electrifying start at Saracens' Allianz Park on Saturday.

After just nine minutes, they were on the scoresheet through a try from Jared Cardew, who stood in for Cadan Murley, away with the England Under 18s, as skipper.

Just three minutes later, the versatile Xavier Hastings added a second try.

Midway through the half, Callum MacTaggart rounded three defenders in almost no space at all to score a wondrous try in the right hand corner.

Ben Turner reduced the arrears with a try for Bromsgrove, who have won the cup back-to-back years.

But three further converted tries in an eight-minute period from Tom Boxer, hooker Archie McEwan and Paddy Bates ensured Bishop's took a 36-7 lead into the break.

Joe Harper scored through a driven maul before Oliver Lawrence scored a stunning solo try to reduce the gap to 36-19.

MacTaggart, filling in at scrum half, put the cherry on the cake of his team’s day with his second try of the game to mark a stunning victory.

Coach Terry Gilmour said: "We're stoked to be in the final against Warwick.

"The team were ruthless in the semi-final and would definitely take confidence from the win against double champions, Bromsgrove.

"The pinnacle of this competition is to play at Twickenham and we aren't taking this lightly. The boys are delighted to be wearing the Bishop Wordsworth's 1stXV shirt again with their mates at the home of rugby and will ensure that they work hard to come away with the right result."
