Donny and Marie Osmond are beginning a UK tour
Donny Osmond has warned One Direction that their fame won't last forever.
The former teen idol's Donny Osmond Show was syndicated all over the US, Canada, Australia and in the UK.
But he admitted: "It's no secret that I lost my career in the Eighties so I worked very hard to get it back."
Donny, 55, said: "I was watching One Direction recently and I just hope they appreciate everything they have in their career.
"It's not going to last forever, we all know that. It can't."
Donny also had words of wisdom for another star, saying: "I hope Justin Bieber is loving every moment of his career. That level just can't be sustained.
"No matter how great your music is, the attention span of the public is that of a gnat, and it's getting shorter and shorter."
Osmond said he was working hard to make sure his success wouldn't "slip away" again.
