Mariah Carey has recorded a new "feel-good" song for the Oz: The Great And Powerful soundtrack.

Almost Home, which has been co-written and co-produced by the Grammy-winning superstar, will also be released as a single on February 19.

"Almost Home has a message that works beautifully with the film. It's a feel-good record, it gives you the feeling of reaching your home and being with people that you love," she said.

Award-winning photographer and director David LaChapelle, who made the Loverboy music video, will direct the music video for the song, in a reunion which he described as "a duet between Mariah and the movie."

Mother-of-two Mariah has been busy working on her new album, which is expected to be released this spring.

James Franco, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz star in Sam Raimi's Oz: The Great And Powerful, which opens in cinemas on March 8.
