Watts: Kidman kept encouraging me

Naomi Watts has revealed that best pal Nicole Kidman kept her motivated when she was struggling to launch her movie career.

The Impossible actress became friendly with Nicole when they co-starred in indie film Flirting in 1991, and although Nicole's Hollywood career soon took off it took Naomi a little longer to make a name for herself.

Naomi told CBS' Sunday Morning that Nicole kept encouraging her to stick it out, reports Us Weekly.

"She kept saying, 'It's just going to take one thing, one thing, Nay, and you know, if you're in a hit film... then everything changes'," she said.

Naomi, now a big name in Tinseltown with two Best Actress Oscar nominations under her belt, admitted there were some tough times when she was trying to forge her career, but she stuck it out because she didn't have any other plan.

"Oh my God, I mean, I considered myself fairly sensitive, but I don't think a strong person could cope with it over and over again," she said.

"There were moments when I was sure I was done. Oh yeah, but I didn't have a plan B really, I didn't."
