Gemma Arterton says she turned down a 'huge' film
Gemma Arterton reckons her new film Song For Marion is the toughest film gig she's ever had.
The former Bond girl plays a music teacher who conducts a choir of old age pensioners in the film, which also stars Vanessa Redgrave and Terence Stamp.
Gemma told Metro: "I think it's the most challenging job I've ever done - apart from theatre stuff.
"I had to learn to play the piano in a month, plus I felt so responsible for the choir. They were mainly these lovely old people who'd been in choirs and some of them were a bit batty and could get unruly, and I was trying to keep everyone together while doing my job."
The 27-year-old also revealed she's keen to avoid making blockbusters just for the sake of it.
She explained: "I've decided to shun the 'big' side for a bit. Over Christmas, I turned down this huge, very commercial film - I can't tell you which but it's one of those feel-good family films you know is going to be a massive smash, but I felt this unease about doing it."
