Taylor Swift is rumoured to be dating British star Ed Sheeran.

The Sun reported that the pair first got together last year before splitting to focus on their music, but have rekindled their romance following Taylor's split from Ed's pal Harry Styles.

A source said: "Taylor has always loved Ed to bits. He's just an adorably sweet guy who makes her laugh and feel really confident. Harry had that irresistible bad boy thing but Taylor has realised she would rather give it a go with a guy who can make her happy on a different level."

The pair previously collaborated on the song Everything Has Changed, and Lego House singer Ed is supporting Taylor on the US leg of her Red tour.

An insider said Love Story singer Taylor "made it clear when they go off on tour she wants Ed to be her boyfriend" and that he is delighted as he has always hoped they would get back together.

Taylor - who has had a string of high profile romances - and Ed are thought to have grown close in recent weeks, and there have been reports they spent the evening together before the Brits. However, the pair have long admitted to being fans of each other.

Ed told Billboard last month: "I'm a fan of Taylor's, not just her work but her ethics and that she writes her hits herself and she's probably the only woman in her position in the industry who writes 100 per cent of her hits. It's a very cool thing."

And Taylor, whose famous exes also include Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Lautner, has referred to Ed as "one of my favourite human beings on the planet".
