Sophie Okonedo stars in BBC drama Mayday
Sophie Okonedo has said she no longer watches herself on screen.
The Oscar-nominated actress, 44, plays ex-police officer and housewife Fiona in the new BBC One thriller Mayday.
But she rarely watches her performances.
"I used to, but when I stopped it was like a relief to not do it. I don't think it's helpful for me as an actor.
"I think if I see how I am on camera, it'll make me more self-conscious the next time," she said.
The Mayday cast were not allowed to see the final script, so none of the actors knew how it would conclude.
So Hotel Rwanda star Sophie said she might make an exception to her rule of not watching herself back for Mayday.
"I don't know what kind of character I've ended up playing," she said.
:: Mayday begins on BBC One on Sunday, March 3 and runs consecutively over five nights.
