Ford to receive career tribute
Harrison Ford is set to be presented with a lifetime achievement award at the 2013 Zurich Film Festival.
The Indiana Jones star will be given the Golden Eye gong at a glittering ceremony on October 4, ahead of the release of his next film - sci-fi adventure Ender's Game, reported Screen Daily.
The festival's directors Karl Spoerri and Nadja Schildknecht said: "Harrison Ford has had one of the most remarkable careers of any actor in cinema, helping to propel two of the greatest movie franchises by bringing to life iconic roles that have become just as famous as the films themselves.
"Few actors have commanded the leading man role that Harrison Ford has embodied throughout his career, and continues to showcase in every new project. We are honoured to present him with our Golden Eye award at this year's festival."
A special screening of Raiders Of The Lost Ark will then be shown, prior to Harrison's tribute.
The 71-year-old - who is married to actress Calista Flockhart - is also known for his portrayal of Han Solo in the Star Wars films, a role he is rumoured to return to for the upcoming instalment, Episode VII.
Harrison has also had leading roles in Ridley Scott's Blade Runner, as well as action thrillers The Fugitive, Patriot Games, Clear And Present Danger and Air Force One. His forthcoming movies include Anchorman: The Legend Continues and The Expendables 3.
Hugh Jackman will be this year's recipient of the Golden Icon award at the Zurich Film Festival, which runs from September 26 to October 6, and there will be a tribute to Oscar-winning filmmaker Michael Haneke.
