Sheridan enjoys Harry Hill premiere
Sheridan Smith has claimed she was embracing the cold after sweating it out in a fat suit for so long on The Harry Hill Movie.
The blonde actress was joined on the red carpet by co-stars including Harry Hill, Julie Walters and Jim Broadbent for the world premiere of the film at the Vue cinema in London's Leicester Square.
Sheridan plays Harry's love interest in the film, a shell girl who is covered in shells and starfish.
Looking glamorous in a red lace gown, she revealed: "It took about four hours in make-up every day, so I'd get picked up at 3am and sit in make-up having all these prosthetic shells put all over my face.
"And I had to wear a fat suit all day, which was mental!
"We had these T-shirts on underneath that had iced water pumped through them because we got so hot.
"So today I'm like 'Ah! It's nice and chilly!'."
The film follows Harry, his Nan, played by Julie, and his pet hamster, voiced by Johnny Vegas, on a road trip to Blackpool, unaware they are being pursued by Harry's evil twin brother, Otto, played by Matt Lucas.
Harry drove up the red carpet in the car he used in the film, with a Christmas tree tied to the roof.
The 49-year-old comedian revealed that he took inspiration for his acting debut from Julie.
"I learned a lot from her. I've never been in a film, I've never really done proper acting as such," he said.
"I've done sketches, but I've never done anything longer than half a minute. So I learned a lot from her.
"The only problem I've got is I'm not the funniest thing in the film. I made the mistake of getting a cast of really funny people."
Meanwhile, Julie confessed that seeing the car on the red carpet brought back memories.
"It's 1970s, I was sitting really low driving it, it was really hard steering. Great fun though," she said.
