Selena Gomez has had a scare after Los Angeles police arrested a man on suspicion of trespassing at her home.

Officer Rosario Herrera said a family member called police on Saturday (January 25) after seeing an intruder on the singer and actress's property in the San Fernando Valley's Tarzana area.

She said 19-year-old Juan Daniel Garcia, of El Mirage, Arizona, was booked on suspicion of trespassing.

Herrera said it was unclear if former Disney star Selena, 21, was home at the time.

Selena and her family have a three-year restraining order against a man accused of threatening to kill her and travelling from Illinois to meet her. A judge granted the order in January 2011.
