Bradley Cooper has revealed how he went underwear-free when he met US President Barack Obama.
The Oscar-nominated actor admitted he went commando when he attended the State dinner at the White House on February 11 - because his smalls don't fit him any more.
"So, I'm prepping for this new movie and I'm trying to gain weight fast. I've gained about 15 pounds in four weeks and nothing fits me any more," he told Ellen DeGeneres on her TV show.
"So I wore the tuxedo I wore to the Golden Globes. I just sort of threw it in the bag and brought it and went to Washington DC. Then I'm getting dressed like 10 minutes before I was supposed to go, and literally the pants go up to like here. They were crazy-town tight," the 39-year-old continued, pointing to his mid-thighs.
"I started laughing. I thought, 'This is hilarious. I'm going to meet the president'. So I had to go commando because there was no room at all. I did. I had to."
Bradley revealed he could barely stand up to shake hands with the Secretary of State and other dignitaries.
"There was a lot of getting up and shaking hands. I couldn't even stand up really, and then you have to walk up all these stairs. It was a nightmare, but I made it through," the American Hustle star said.
The actor said he still has to gain "20 pounds, I hope" for the role of soldier Chris Kyle in American Sniper.
"I just feel like I have to be somewhat in the same vein. He was a big guy," he admitted.
