Amanda Holden is hoping to make fellow dog-lover Simon Cowell jealous after cuddling up to some cute puppies at Crufts.

But the Britain's Got Talent judge admitted Simon has his hands full himself, as she revealed she is going to meet baby Eric for the first time this evening (March 7), now the media mogul has arrived back in London with his new son and partner Lauren Silverman.

Amanda was chatting to Gethin Jones for new radio station Hound Waves at Crufts, where she enjoyed cuddling up to some adorable police dog puppies.

She said: " I'm going to be stroking some puppies, which I know Simon will be quite jealous of because we all know he loves to stroke a puppy."

"He's got his hands full at the moment, with new baby Eric. Hopefully I'll be meeting that little one this evening, so I'm really excited," she revealed.

The actress and TV presenter - who already has a dog called Rudy who she revealed she took on the road with her to some of the Britain's Got Talent auditions - also joked she might sneak a puppy home in her handbag.

Amanda teased: "I've brought a big handbag with me and I'm planning on sneaking a puppy out!"

She added, laughing: "I'm an ambassador for Battersea Dogs Home and I'm often down there and my husband says 'Do NOT come home with another dog'. And he says to me there'll be a divorce and I have to weigh it up - marriage or new dog? Sometimes it's tough!"

:: Hound Waves, a radio station for dog lovers, has launched on lungworm.co.uk as part of a campaign to highlight the dangers of the parasite which can prove fatal to dogs. It also airs on 89.1 FM.
