Kylie Minogue has revealed that she is insecure about her looks.

The singer and coach on The Voice told Stylist, while being photographed for the magazine, that she didn't want to catch a glimpse of herself on the monitor because it would make her feel rotten for the rest of the day.

"Believe it or not, I still get a bit embarrassed doing shoots. I feel like, 'Why is everyone looking at me?' But they have to look at me. That's why they're here and that's my job," she told the magazine.

"I didn't look at the monitor once [today] because I'll see everything I hate and just get more and more insecure as the day goes on and hate myself..."

Her comments came as she unveiled the raunchy video for her new song Sexercize, in which the pop princess, clad in a tight white leotard and towering red heels, writhes on gymnastics equipment and performs a set of seductive stretches and bounces on an exercise ball.

Kylie, who split with her boyfriend Andres Velencoso last year and is also with a new record label, told Stylist that she felt revitalised in the New Year.

"Dealing with sadness and trying to make peace with those things and think about moving forward... We can't just go backwards. It's our good fortune if we get to go forwards. It's very hard for me to describe, but there was an energy shift," she said.

"It doesn't mean I'm not fraught, tired, stressed, excited, crazy, all the things that I was before, but there's a chain of thought that I didn't have before and I do now and I really hope I can hang on to it."
