Dornan: Killer role damaging me

Salisbury Journal: Jamie Dornan says playing a serial killer is probably not good for him Jamie Dornan says playing a serial killer is probably not good for him

Jamie Dornan has said that getting into the mindset of a serial killer is probably doing him damage, but he doesn't care because he loves it.

The actor stars in BBC Two murder drama series The Fall and is currently shooting the second series in Northern Ireland, but said that his role as the serial killer was probably not doing his mental state much good.

He told What's On TV: "I love it. It's not easy being in that headspace for that amount of time and it's probably doing long-term damage. But I absolutely love being there - I don't know what that says about me."

Jamie, 31, added that he had been delighted when it was confirmed a second series would go ahead, after last year's hit first run.

He said: "It was always the plan and hope and maybe more than that. Certainly I talked a lot to the writer and producer Allan Cubitt about the idea of another season. But it was very satisfying that after the second episode aired they commissioned another one."

The actor, who will star in the big screen version of Fifty Shades Of Grey, continued: "I've read the breakdown for the second series and its mind-blowingly brilliant."
