Cox shoots down Friends reunion

Salisbury Journal: Courteney Cox has said that a Friends reunion is unlikely to happen Courteney Cox has said that a Friends reunion is unlikely to happen

Courteney Cox has doused any hopes of a Friends reunion.

The 49-year-old actress, who played chef Monica Geller on the hit US sitcom about a group of friends living in New York, denied that the cast would get back together on screen for a final time, as she appeared on The Late Show With David Letterman.

"It's not going to happen," she said when asked if the long-awaited reunion would ever get made.

The show, which ran for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004, propelled its cast including Courteney, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer to stardom.

It had been rumoured that Friends could either return for a one-off special or even a film spin-off like Sex And The City and Veronica Mars.

Courteney, who stars in Cougar Town, said she would be up for a reunion, but reckoned it would be too difficult to get all six together at the same time.

"Let me tell you something, there's six friends and I've been trying to put together a cast dinner for 10 years. It doesn't happen!" she said.

"I can get the girls to come, maybe Matthew Perry. Matt LeBlanc cancelled last time right at the last minute, Schwimmer lives here [in New York City], so it's just not gonna happen."

The show's co-creator Marta Kauffman, who conceived the idea with David Crane, has also said a reunion is unlikely.
