Prince Harry is to rock out with Foo Fighters and Kaiser Chiefs after they were signed up to head the bill for the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games which he launched.

The event - on September 14 - also features Ellie Goulding and Ryan Adams and will include the medal presentation ceremony for the winning athletes.

The games are a P aralympic-style sporting championship for injured servicemen and women to be staged at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in east London, built for the 2012 Olympics.

Harry launched the contest earlier this year to support rehabilitation and raise awareness of those injured serving their countries, with m ore than 400 wounded services personnel from 14 nations due to take part.

The Vamps, Rizzle Kicks, James Blunt and Military Wives Choirs are among the other acts to feature on the bill, with highlights to be screened by the BBC.

Harry said: "I am hugely grateful to all the artists and organisers for coming together in September to put on what will be a truly awesome concert.

"It will be a celebration of everything the competitors will have achieved over the four days of the Invictus Games, not to mention the efforts of the hundreds of other athletes we couldn't fit into the teams this year. And for those who didn't make it back from operations, this is also for you."

Foo Fighters said: "What a perfect way to finally return to the UK for the first time in years - been way too long. It is truly an honour to come play for these incredible men and women."

Tickets for the five-hour ceremony go on sale on Friday August 1 at 9am, with more details about the games - supported by Jaguar Land Rover - at www.invictusgames.org.
