David Tennant has landed a prestigious hosting role on American TV.
The Doctor Who star will make his debut on the long-running TV anthology Masterpiece Contemporary this autumn, its producing station WGBH, announced.
The 38-year-old Scottish actor, who is stepping down from his best known role as the Timelord, follows past Masterpiece hosts such as Alan Cumming and Laura Linney.
Masterpiece Contemporary returns on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) in October with Endgame, a drama about the final days of apartheid in South Africa starring William Hurt and Jonny Lee Miller.
The Masterpiece series began as Masterpiece Theatre in 1971, and now also encompasses a sister series, Mystery.
