Chris Martin returns to Simpsons

Chris Martin is making a return to The Simpsons.

The Coldplay frontman, who appeared in the animated comedy with his band earlier this year, will appear on the show next year as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations.

But instead of being accompanied by this band, he'll have the honour of appearing with a new character - Ladies' Man Ricardo Bomba.

Ricardo was created by fan Peggy Black and chosen to appear in the animation by a panel of judges including the show's executive producer Al Jean.

Her entry triumphed among the more than 25,000 received.

"He's someone that all the women love and all the men want to be," Peggy said.

The episode is called Million Dollar Baby.
