Lady Gaga and Janet Jackson have been confirmed to perform on The X Factor.

In her only UK performance of the year, Velvet Rope star Janet - whose greatest hits compilation The Best is available now - will be flexing her vocal chords to perform live on the competition on December 6.

Also singing on the penultimate show is Lady Gaga, who will be performing her latest hit, Bad Romance, for the first time ever on UK television.

Five-time Grammy award-winning Janet and Lady Gaga - who's been promoting her latest album The Fame Monster - are the latest stars to join the bill for the ITV show.

Other musicians who have appeared on The X Factor include Mariah Carey, Susan Boyle, Whitney Houston, Bon Jovi and Westlife.

Rihanna and Alicia Keys will be performing hits from their new albums on Sunday.
