Band backs Harding's star turn

Pop star Sarah Harding was supported at the premiere of her first film by her band mates from Girls Aloud.

Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh from the girl group joined "nervous" Sarah on the pink carpet for the screening of St Trinian's 2: The Legend Of Fritton's Gold in London's Leicester Square.

However, despite her successful pop career Sarah admitted she was worried about how people would react to her first major acting role, saying: "I'm nervous about everyone out there, and the critics seeing it, more than anything - it's a really, really great amount of pressure."

She added: "I think because people, in this day and age, in Britain, don't expect you to cross over into acting... there's a bit of a stigma to that.

"What people don't realise is that I did actually train for acting when I was younger as well, so it's kind of relighting a little fire there. I've got a ball of emotions in my stomach right now."

But she could count on her pop pal Kimberley for some emotional support.

Kimberley said said: "She's a total drama queen and I think the whole rock chick naughty schoolgirl thing is right up her street, so we've got complete faith in her."

Sarah made a brief cameo, with the rest of Girls Aloud, in the first St Trinian's film and had a small part in independent British film Bad Day. However, this was her first major acting role.

Her co-stars Jodie Whittaker, Rupert Everett and Celia Imrie also attended the premiere.
