Andre 3000 to play Hendrix in film

Andre Benjamin - aka Andre 3000 - is to play Jimi Hendrix
Andre 3000 is reportedly set to play legendary rocker Jimi Hendrix on the big screen.
The Outkast singer - whose real name is Andre Benjamin - will play the late guitarist in a biopic titled All Is By My Side, according to the Irish Film And Television Network.
The film will be set during Hendrix's time in England between 1966 and 1967, and will follow him as he created his seminal debut album, Are You Experienced, which gave him his first taste of success.
American rapper Andre, who has previously appeared in movies such as Four Brothers, Be Cool and Scary Movie 4, had long been rumoured to star as Hendrix.
The 36-year-old star is now heading to Ireland to start shooting the film in Dublin and Wicklow. The shoot is expected to last for six weeks.
All Is By My Side will be directed by John Ridley.
